Race Information

Event Overview

Rainier Raid 2026 will start and finish in Packwood, Washington from June 5–7, 2026.

Packwood is a small mountain town with easy road access from both Seattle and Portland, making it the primary hub for lodging, food, rentals, and athlete logistics. Seattle is roughly a 2 hr 20 min drive to Packwood and Portland is roughly 2 hr 45 min... depending on route and traffic.

Expect a 27-30 hour finish time, depending on your pace and navigation ability. Course open for 36 hours to allow for shenanigans. Racers should be prepared for a full-spectrum Pacific Northwest adventure race experience, including singletrack and true “adventure” mountain bike trails, Class II+ whitewater, and canyons featuring rappels, slides, jumps, and exploration. The trekking sections may include difficult bushwhacking, off-trail navigation, and significant peak bagging. Athletes should also expect to get wet and at times, to swim.

First Aid Kit

1x per team required.
Rainier Raid recommends a small but real backcountry-capable kit, not a token kit. ARWS equipment rules are explicit that mandatory gear is a minimum standard for safety, injury treatment, and short-term survival, not the only gear racers should carry.

Hotel / Lodging Info

Packwood has limited lodging inventory, so racers should book early.
