Where does the race start and finish?

Packwood, WA.

What dates are the event?

June 5–7, 2026.

Can I use a gravel bike?

No. Mountain bikes only.

Can I use a packraft instead of an inflatable kayak?

Yes. Packraft or inflatable kayak is okay.

Can I use a bike helmet for the climbing/canyoneering section?

Yes. Bike helmet is okay for that section.

Do I need two compasses?

Teams need a minimum of 2. Solos may carry 1.

Does the race provide maps and tracker?

Yes. Race bib, passport, 2 sets of maps, and GPS tracker are provided.

Does “Houdini or equivalent” count as shell layer?

Yes, if it is being used as an actual weather-protection layer suitable for the conditions.

Is this the complete gear I should race with?

No. This is the mandatory minimum. ARWS makes clear that racers remain responsible for carrying suitable equipment, clothing, food, and safety gear for the actual conditions.
